What
do I do if my oil burner fails to operate?"
1. Be sure that the oil

set above room temperature.
3. Make sure that there is
oil in the tank.
4. Press reset button on
relay " JUST ONCE ONLY."
5. Check to see if flame
comes on.

at all, check for blown or loose fuse.

Most oil burners should
be cleaned and serviced annually. Some may operate longer
but the efficiency level may drop. Some older units may
require more frequent service due to sludge problems that clog
nozzles and filters.
The best time to have your oil burner
serviced is in between the heating seasons, when the unit is not
being used as often.
Sludge is a term used
to describe the black, mud-like sediment that can build up in an
oil tank. It can be a combination of bacteria, water, rust
and broken down oil. The age of a tank is not always a
factor in the amount of sludge build-up.
